The Mingle is proud to offer you invitation for you to join the 12th edition of The Single Fin Mingle and compete in the inaugural Mingle Masters invitational division.

We request the pleasure of your company from the evening of Thursday the 26th of March right through until the evening of Sunday the 29th of March 2026 in Sumner, Christchurch, New Zealand for what we plan to be the best weekend of the year. The Mingle Masters will be scheduled to run on Sunday the 29th of March.

Surfboard Requirements & Judging

The Single Fin Mingle is a traditional longboard competition, and judging reflects this. While we have adopted the updated WSL longboard criteria in recent years, our festival origins place a strong emphasis on entertainment, flow, and style.

The Mingle Masters division is designed to honour the heritage and spirit of classic longboarding. The surfboard used in competition must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a traditionally built longboard

  • Measure a minimum of 9 feet in length

  • Be single fin only (no alternative or multiple fin configurations permitted)

  • Weigh a minimum of 8kg

These requirements are in place to preserve the integrity and authenticity of traditional single fin longboarding.

Legropes may be used at the discretion of each surfer.
